iGEM Thessaloniki, is a multidisciplinary Synthetic Biology research team which represents Aristotle University of Thessaloniki from Greece, in the iGEM 2018 Competition.

The iGEM competition (International Genetically Engineered Machine) is the main program of the iGEM Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of Synthetic biology, education and collaboration. Primarily made up of university students, multidisciplinary teams work together to build, test and measure a system of their own design using interchangeable biological parts, engineering principles and standard molecular biology techniques.

The main objective of the event scheduled for 12 October will be gathering of students from different scientific backgrounds who will learn about a new and promising interdisciplinary field of science as well as the iGEM Competition. Our main goal is to communicate Synthetic Biology in the SouthEast European region, and share our knowledge and experience from the iGEM competition so far.
