Opis istraživanja:

Istraživanja se provode u okviru dinamike populacije riba koja obuhvaćaju analize biometrijskih osobina (morfometrijske i merističke karakteristike), rasta, starosti i smrtnosti, dužinsko – masenog odnosa, sastava hrane i načina ishrane jadranskih riba. Znanstvenu suradnju ostvarili smo sa Laboratorijem za ihtiologiju i obalni ribolov Instituta za oceanografiju i ribarstvo u Splitu koji se bavi istraživanjem biologije i ekologije jadranskih riba. Predmet istraživanja u dosadašnjem radu grupe posvećena je analizi dinamike populacije određenih vrsta iz porodica Carangidae, Sparidae, Gadidae, Scopthalamidae, Trachinidae, Triakidae, i Rajidae.
Posebna pažnja posvećena je istraživanju prehrane šnjura (Trachurus trachurus), šnjura pučinara (Trachurus mediterraneus), ovčice (Litognathus mormyrus), ušate (Oblada melanura), patarače oštronoske (Lepidorhombus whiffiagonis), arbuna (Paghellus erythrinus), ugotice (Trisopterus minutus), morskog goluba (Myliobatis aquila), morskog psa čukova (Mustelus mustelus), morskog psa mekuša (Mustelus punctulatus), raže kamenice (Raja clavata) i raže modropjege (Raja miraletus).

Sa Institutom za Oceanografiju u Splitu ostvarena je suradnja u okviru projekta Gospodarenje i bioraznolikost bogatstava u Hrvatskom priobalju (voditelj projekta dr. sc. Jakov Dulćić, znanstveni savjetnik)
