Fakultetski seminar Prirodoslovno-matemati\u010dkog fakulteta, koji \u0107e se odr\u017eati u <strong>srijedu 2. svibnja 2018. godine<\/strong> u <strong>11:00 <\/strong>sati u amfiteatru <strong>A1-1<\/strong> na kojem \u0107e <strong>dr. sc. Marina Rudan<\/strong> odr\u017eati predavanje \u201e<em>Povezanost genskih polimorfizama s fenotipskim karakteristikama molekula RNA i proteina<\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sa\u017eetak: Molekule RNA i proteini se mogu pogre\u0161no smotati u nefunkcionalne konformacije. Budu\u0107i da se za biosintezu proteina DNA prepisuje u RNA, funkcionalne stanice zahtijevaju odr\u017eavanje homeostaze DNA, RNA i proteina. U ovom radu je istra\u017eeno mogu li DNA polimorfizmi utjecati na konformaciju molekule RNA i proteina, te rezultirati fenotipskim promjenama. Otkriveno je da je ovo iznimno slo\u017een proces, tijekom kojeg konformacijske promjene proteina izazvane mutacijama molekula DNA mogu modificirati interakcije proteina i odrediti njihovu osjetljivost na oksidaciju. Tako\u0111er, pokazano je da \u0161tetne mutacije mogu biti puferirane na razini transkripcije pomo\u0107u RNA \u0161aperona (DEAD-box RNA helikaza i &#8216;cold shock&#8217; proteina), koji djeluju kao fenotipski supresori mutacija i pobolj\u0161avaju stani\u010dni fitnes. Ovi rezultati nagla\u0161avaju zna\u010daj kontrole kvalitete mRNA u eukariotima i njen potencijal za modulaciju stani\u010dne metaboli\u010dke aktivnosti te \u017eivotnog vijeka. Ovo istra\u017eivanje isti\u010de va\u017enost prou\u010davanja cjelokupnog sustava DNA, RNA i proteina, te njihove me\u0111usobne komunikacije umjesto analize stani\u010dnih procesa pojedina\u010dno.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>O predava\u010du: Marina Rudan je doktorirala biologiju na Prirodoslovno-matemati\u010dkom fakultetu Sveu\u010dili\u0161tu u Zagrebu.
