The rapid development of astrophysics and elementary particle physics has resulted in important discoveries in recent years. The discovery of the Higgs Bozone at CERN 2012 is particularly emphasized. Year and the detection of gravitational waves by the experiment LIGO 2016. Year. Although elementary particle physics deals with the smallest and astrophysics of the largest objects in nature, the boundary between these two branches of physics is completely erased by the birth of a new discipline called astrparticle Physics.

The study may be enrolled after obtaining a bachelor’s degree at the Physics undergraduate study or on a related study, while taking any distinguishing tests. The duration of the study is 4 semesters (2 academic years). By laying down all exams and defending the graduate thesis, 120 ECTS credits are obtained and a master’s degree in Physics (Mag. phys).

Students who successfully complete this study can, with the possible laying of several distinguishing exams, enter some of the related postgraduate studies at universities in Croatia and abroad.

Students acquire a wide range of knowledge, from knowledge of fundamental interactions in nature to knowledge of the emergence and development of the universe on the highest scales. Special emphasis is placed on understanding the experimental background of modern astrophysics and elementary particle physics, the application of modern methods in data analysis (eg. Neural Networks) and the application of computer physics methods to solving complex problems.
