We are entering a transformative period in the evolution of programming and creative technology. Rapid advancements in tools and methodologies are reshaping the ways individuals can engage with software development and innovation. This lecture examines the current landscape of technological empowerment, focusing on how newcomers, regardless of prior expertise, can effectively participate in and contribute to this dynamic ecosystem. Through a combination of conceptual discussion and practical reflection, the talk will address the changing definition of what it means to be a “builder” in the modern era. It will explore strategies for establishing a foundation in a rapidly evolving field, emphasizing curiosity, adaptability, and interdisciplinary thinking as key drivers of success. Drawing from personal experience and case examples, the session aims to inspire participants to recognize their creative potential and to take active roles in shaping the technologies of the future.
Kratki životopis
Prateek Rungta is a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI, where he focuses on building large-scale data and AI systems. Previously, as a Staff Engineer and the Technical Lead for M3 at Uber, he led the team responsible for the company’s global metrics platform. He was the architect of the system that processes over 5.5 billion samples per second and is the co-creator of the open-source distributed time-series database M3DB, which powers major metrics pipelines across the industry. While at Uber, he also pioneered Genie, one of the company’s most impactful Generative AI products.
