Mathias Gartner (Institute for Theoretical Physics, Johannes Kepler Universität, Linz), suradnik na bilateralnom hrvatsko-austrijskom projektu “Spin-orbit vezanje u mnogočestičnim sustavima” održat će predavanje o optimizaciji stohastičke metode varijacijski Monte Carlo (VMC), pod naslovom

Time-dependent VMC: Applications in real and imaginary time

Predavanje će se održati u četvrtak 17. listopada 2019. godine u 11:00 u amfiteatru A1-1 Prirodoslovno-matematičkog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Splitu, ulici Ruđera Boškovića 33.

Pozivamo sve zainteresirane da prisustvuju predavanju.

Sažetak

We use the time dependent variational Monte Carlo (tVMC) method [1] to investigate the non-equilibrium dynamics of bosonic systems in continuous space. Wtihin this seminar I want to give a brief overview of the tVMC method and show how it can be used to simulate an interaction quench in a one-dimensional bosonic system. Furthermore the challenges for extending the method to 2D and 3D systems will be discussed.

The tVMC method can also be reformulated in imaginary time, which allows for optimizing parametrized ground state wavefunctions. I will show a very generic wavefunction ansatz for bosonic clusters composed of helium and alkali atoms and compare structural properties of these clusters to DMC calculations.
